We’re all about the environment here at PWPOnline.com. We instituted a “no plastic water bottle” zone around our office to minimize the excess waste that even just a water bottle a day creates, we try our best to keep our office as paperless as possible, and we encourage brides-to-be to choose pretty Eco-Friendly Wedding Favors. This way, we can all do our part to help save the environment!
Here’s some tips we compiled to help you have an eco-friendly, green wedding.
1. Minimize Plastic and Paper - You’d be surprised if you really saw how much plastic and paper products are involved in a wedding. Rather than having paper streamers and bows all around, stick with pretty flowers. Flowers make for beautiful decorations, and since less is more with flowers, you can trim costs as well.
If you’re having hors d'oeuvres, have guests eat on small ceramic plates, like these adorable Heart Shaped Ceramic Plates. They’re only about $18 for a set of 4, and your guests can take them home as favors. This way, you’re cutting down on paper plates and giving your guests a gift they can use again and again. Same goes for plastic wine glasses - use glass wine glasses instead, and your guests can take them with them.
2. Environmental Gift Registries - These days, more and more couples already have just about everything they need for married life. Instead of the traditional gift registry for plates you probably already have, choose an environmental gift registry. Do a quick search engine search online, and you’ll find a myriad of green wedding registries where your guests can donate to an environmental cause. You can also set up a honeymoon registry as well so you can enjoy some rest and relaxation after that wedding!
3. Eco-Friendly Wedding Favors - Green wedding favors are a must for an eco-friendly wedding. Check out our beautiful seed packet wedding favors, so your guests can do their part to help the environment after your wedding, too! There’s even bio-degradable wedding favor poppers (we know how much they are!).
