Bridal Shower Favors: Perfect Gifts for Shower Games

Having a shower where not everyone knows each other? Break the ice with some fun start-up games. These games are quick and easy and will get people feeling comfortable in no time.
- The Clothespin Game - To begin, choose a "buzz word" such as ide, groom, wedding, etc. When each guest comes into the party, hand them a clothespin. Then, if someone hears another person saying the "buzz word," they get to take that person's clothespin. The person with the most clothespins at the end of the party wins.
- Purse Scavenger Hunt - Divide guests into teams of two or three, giving them a list of slightly unusual items, including a few "why in the world would you carry that in a purse?" items. Assign points to each item based on the likelihood that someone will have it. The team with the most points is the winner. Gift each team with magnificent bridal shower favors as their reward.
- Arts and Crafts Activities - Have a supply of papers, pens, paints, etc. and ask guests to write and illustrate either their favorite memory of the bride, their best marital advice, or a recipe. - How Well Do You Know the bride? - Start off this game by asking the bride to leave the room, standing just out of sight, but within hearing distance. Ask guests what she was wearing, (color of her shirt, hair up or down, etc.) then move on to harder questions such as how did the bride and groom meet, what is the bride's favorite color, etc. The first person the most correct answers is the winner.
- Birthday/Anniversary - Sure your guests may not want to play involved games, but who doesn't love a present? As your guests enter, have them write down their birthdays and wedding anniversaries. The guest whose date is closest to the wedding date wins a prize. The hostess can then copy down the birthdays and anniversaries in a nice birthday book for the bride, so she'll always know when to send a thoughtful card.
- Toilet Paper Dress - Break your guests into two teams. Have each team pick a model. Supply each team with several rolls of toilet paper. The goal of this game is to outfit the model in toilet paper with everything a bride would need on her wedding day. The teams will need to make a toilet paper wedding dress, by wrapping the model in toilet paper and make resemble a dress. The model will also need a veil and a headpiece! After an allotted amount of time, have your bride choose the winner!
Fun for the guests while the bride opens her gifts:
- Bridal Bingo - The host pre-fills out bingo cards with things the bride likes, and then has her draw either the items themselves (if they are small gifts) or slips of paper (if they are things like places she has visited, her favorite color, etc.). Variation two is that the guests fill the cards out themselves with presents they think the bride is likely to receive, putting their own present in the free square in the middle. When a guest has a matching square with what the bride has called (or opened), she can cross it off; five in a row, across or diagonally count as Bingo!
- The Bride's Poem - Start off by writing a sentence about the bride (or bride and groom) as if it were the first line of a poem. Then pass it around the room as the bride opens her presents. Each guest must write down a next line of the poem, following the previous line as logically as possible. Then, she folds the sheet of paper over, so that the next guest only sees the line she has written. The maid of honor or hostess reads the wacky poem at the end of present opening!
